Swiftwater Rescue
Preventing accidents on the river should be one of our top priorities whenever we put boats in the water. Managing risk is a skill that needs to be continually practiced, swiftwater rescue is no different. Whether you are new to playing in the river, or a seasoned boater, our River Safety & Rescue class provides you with the environment you need to grow your river skill set.

- River literacy, effective communication/signals
- Whitewater swimming practice & drills
- Throw bag techniques
- Wading/shallow water crossings, foot entrapment
- Knots, anchors, mechanical advantage, boat pins
- Raft rigging, flip drills
- Zip-line crossings, more complex rescue scenarios
Cordillera’s courses are taught for boaters, by boaters. We strongly believe that curriculum should always adapt to fit your needs. Come witness your rescue skills skyrocket and have fun while doing it! Certifications provided by the American Canoe Association.
