Description
Brush up on your responder skills with our 8 hour wilderness first aid course. Courses are highly customized to each group. The first half of our WFA course deals with essential BLS skills such as CPR & bleeding, while the afternoon brings fun elective topics surrounding environmental problems, medical issues, and traumatic injuries. Each course provides you with more of what you want to learn, and less of what you don’t, while always teaching the essentials based on the most up to date guidelines established by the Wilderness Medical Society.
We’ll learn:
- Practicing patient assessment systems during real life scenarios
- CPR, managing life threatening bleeding & respiratory emergencies
- Head injuries, shock, other traumatic injuries
- Environmental challenges
- Patient transport
- Rattlesnake bites, other toxins/stings
- Splinting practice
- Legal considerations in providing care
Dip your toes in the world of wilderness medicine by joining us for a day of Wilderness First Aid! Certifications provided by the Mountain Training Network in accordance with Wilderness Medical Society guidelines.
